Highlights
from the Footlights

A
Century of Musical Theater

What do
the likes of Sir Arthur Sullivan and W.S. Gilbert, those masters of the
comic musical, have in common with the Broadway geniuses Jerome Kern,
Frank Loesser and Stephen Sondheim? Well, anyone who has been around the
Gilbert and Sullivan Musical Theater Company for a while knows that these
are among the talented songwriters who have been showcased in G&S
productions over the past two decades.

G&SMTC
has put together a revue of what we do best — performances of some of
the greatest songs that musical theater has given us—songs that showcase
love and loss, hopes and dreams, triumph and failure — songs created by
the masters of their craft presented by some of the greatest performers in
the Hudson Valley. We’ve taken this revue to several venues in the area
and audiences have loved it — in fact, we’ve been asked back to every
venue!
If
you’d like to hear some wonderful, funny, touching songs and
have a dazzling evening of entertainment, keep posted for the next
presentation of Highlights From The Footlights. Or, if you’re interested
in hearing more about the show, please contact us and we’ll tell you
more about it. Let’s face it, how can you resist an evening with A
Modern Major General and Kurt Weill’s Pirate Jenny? or perhaps Three Little Maids from
School and Frank Loesser’s
Most Happy Fella? or, if your taste tends toward the macabre, how about
the Bad Baronet of Ruddigore and Sweeney
Todd? Whatever your leanings, you’ll be delighted by the delicacies on
display!
